D - Day
June 6 is the 68th anniversary of the Normandy landings—more commonly known as D-Day—of Operation Overlord. On this day in 1944, 160,000 soldiers, 7,000 ships, and 12,000 airplanes of the Allied forces crossed the English Channel to invade Normandy.
